Actually, now you got me thinking, I have another solution.
Did you know that if you take a folder and add an extension to it it becomes a shortcut to various things? Watch this [smile]
Firstly, make sure you are viewing extensions for known file types (control panel -> folder options -> view -> uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types")
Now create A NEW FOLDER!!! and add the extension:
.{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} for a My Computer shortcut!
The great thing is there is no way to take the extension off (as far as I'm aware) without doing it through a program in say VB 6, rename the file from there (or via DOS (shudder)).
Anyone who wants to access your folder has to do it through the program and entering a password (through an Input Box) before the folder is renamed. If they try clicking on it anyway, it just puts you right back to "My Computer"! Try it- it really works [smile]
Warning: Porn found on your PC!

I know those work in the quicklaunch menu:
My Documents: {450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}
Recycle Bin: {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
Control Panel :{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\::{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}
Hide porn? I have a friend who has a shelf full of categorized porn, and his parents are aware of it (kind of hard to miss). His nickname also happens to be fire crotch...
I once went to the trouble of creating my very own file format making it impossible for anyone to open the folder containing my goodies. I was trying to make an improved version of carmacks pak file format specilaized for downloading individual files form a large archive over the internet (as opposed to downloading the entire file for game updates). The only way you could have opened the file was if you had the program I wrote to pak/unpack the directory. Its a project I never completed but I really should be getting back to.
I also used to hide it in the recycle bin :P

As for renaming zip files on a PC, that works until you try emailing them. Email scanners are smart enough to recognise the zip header and unzip them to scan anyway, unless of course you password protect them.
Dude! You email your porn to other people? You gotta add me to your mailing list!
Why does everything have to be about pr0n in this thread, sheesh.[dead]

Ver nice. You can just rename it though.
Well this is the thing, a program has to be used to rename it because otherwise it cannot be done- Windows automaticly hides these extensions, even if the section is unchecked in folder options.

exactly. hiding porn doesnt seem nearly as popular these days as putting together huge serves stacked full of it (of various orientations), that is, on my university network.

Thats how it shows up in my explorer window. I can rename it just like any other folder.
