In Visual Studio you are able to make item templates (such as classes with custom styles and maybe project specific formatting etc). Has anyone here managed to do this? I have found various articles and gotten no further than the first step. The first article said to select the item from the solution and click File->Export As Template. I did that and the drop down boxes on the proceeding screen had no options. The second article said the same thing, but this time around Export To Template wasn't even highlighted for some reason. I havn't been able to find clarification on whether you can even do this for C++. Any ideas?

Item templates aren't supported for C++ projects. It's irritating, but that's just the way it is. I hoped Visual Studio 2008 would bring C++ projects in line, but no luck.
