The 'closed list' is just the typical representation for nodes on the interior, as I understand it.

Yes, in NotAYakk's post he uses 'frontier nodes' for what is also termed the 'open list', and 'interior' is the same as 'closed list'.

I think this highlights why standard terminologies are a Good Thing ;)
