"An object in your game is currently moving along the line y = 2/3x + 20. When it gets to the point (30,40), the player presses the directional button, forcing the object to turn 90° to the left and continue along that line. Find the equation for the line of the new path."
Trick question with ambiguous wording. No force has been applied to change the object's momentum, so the object continues along the existing line, and simply has a different orientation.
If your homework wants you to find the equation of the line that is perpendicular to the first line and intersects at that point, it should have just said so. Games don't use 'y = mx + b' equations.
