Introducing a new Language War! : Swift or Objective C?

I just watched WWDC 2014, and I got a little excited about the new 3D API and the Swift programming language that Apple has developed. I am sort of new to programming, so Xcode and Objective C scared me. I have used LUA and Python, and I like their syntax.

Well, I downloaded the Swift Programming iBook, and after browsing the syntax, it looks like LUA mixed with Javascript. And it is supposed to be faster than Objective C. No brainer then right?

But I assume some people will not leave their beloved Objective C so soon. And who has time for a new Programming language?

Well, I do!

Pretty soon we will start seeing Swift questions here no?

Or at least, I will be asking them.

Anyone else excited about Swift?

They call me the Tutorial Doctor.

I am excited because it is a new language. But that's it. We only use cross-platform languages at work and unless I do some native iOS or OSX stuff, I don't think I will be using it. Maybe, if things mature and I find some time I will study it.

No.
