now i have a group with my friends to start a new project.

i have finished basic gdd and i want to start a project and i know if project succeeds it can have good benefit. but there is a problem.

i dont know how can i satisfy my group about money. now i can give them no money because there is no budget.

foe example if i say everyone is going to get equal part of benefit there will not be justice because there will be no diffrence between hardworking and lazy and good ones will have no and high quality ones and motivation will be lost.(i think it was one biggest problem of communist societies).

if i say you will have 10 percent of last income i think it will be hard too because what happen if i wanted to add a good person too group, i think it will stay nothing or if i say i will give certain amout of money like 500$.

what if the game sold less i expected or what if game sold much more and they will think i screwed them:D.

i really dont know what to do.

what really good indie teams do? should i find a good financial specialist or there will be good rules to manage them and make an easy contraction with them.

and to explain more, what about investing? for example i added some money to project and bought a cheap motion capture. how should i manage to return investigation to everyone in group and out of group?

thank you for helping

moeen, many threads have been created about this same topic, in the Business forum. I'm moving this there. You should read some of those threads.

thank you mr sloper. but always those repetitive questions have repetitive answers. but everyone that asks them has specefic situation.

im from iran and maybe you know biggest games made in iran was garshasp and "et armies".

indiedb.com mentioned it as best indie game of 2013 but i know all the people worked on project.

project now i think is in 4th year of develpment and no one paid them anything.

i think no indie game project has been too long as much and publisher just told them your own have to pay money for publishing it in iran.

some one introduced kickstarter website but no such website is supported in iran and some other said define milestones and pay your stuff in those milestones but no one will pay for your game in middle of that to you give that money to your stuff.

in profesional development structure, publisher pays your team until to end of project but all the benefits will be for publisher but as and indie team we cant follow these things.

The "being in Iran" part is going to be significant. You should have mentioned it in the first post.

Most of the advice given to others still applies:

If you can find a group of like-minded people in your country who want to make a game, then by all means do so. You will want to talk to a lawyer to ensure you follow the laws, just like everywhere else. Get a contract early on that specifies who owns what, that specifies assignments of rights, and specifies payment. Make sure you pay your taxes, make sure you keep your local officials happy, file your paperwork, etc.

You will find (by reading the other posts) the details of why startups should not put percentages in contracts. Either you pay them a specific amount at the time, or you get a contract that says payments are discretionary and decided entirely by the project owner. Read why in the many other posts.

As for distribution, you already know Iran has some rather severe trade sanctions thanks to governments doing what governments do.

I don't know what resources you have in the nation for selling the game online by yourself. Trying to sell a game online through globally-used app stores or through major distributors is going to be difficult. As you are in Iran, you will probably need to work with a broker in some other country that doesn't participate in the sanctions. That broker will take a chunk of money, and they will be your intermediary. From what I understand, it is not easy and it is also expensive. I recommend talking with other successful business folks in Iran that you might know and ask them how they did it.

thank you frob. as you know working in iran is much significant. iran is not under world copyright rules.

in many websites in iran you can find best aaa games of the world cracked and free. everyone can play cod and bf and watch dogs for free.

for example one of my friends said"hi moeen. how you doing? did you play watch dogs? its shit. gta is better" in this situation as and indie developer never your game gets attention and never paid.

i dont know is it possible to find a foreigner producer but even iranian games get more attention in other countries rather than inside iran. as you said i think its better to find a lawyer or some specialist in this category to make a contract to my staff. thank you
