6 Months Later...

I guess it's kind of fitting that I stopped updating my "Tool of Procrastination" after finishing my game ("Outworlder"). I never intended to stop so abruptly, but things were pretty hectic at the end of my degree and my intention had been that I would get the game ready to be put online for download and would provide it and a post mortem in my next journal entry.

It turns out that I really really felt like the game was "finished" after we'd submitted it and displayed it at the Qantm Industry Night and Open Day. I was physically incapable of making the few changes I felt were necessary in order to release it. Also, although I'm happy with how it turned out, it's still only a one level game and I doubt anyone would be too upset with not playing it.

So since then I've been looking for work and working on some new stuff. I've turned down a couple of job offers (possibly a mistake at this point...) and I took a job at a large game developer here in Australia, but moving to work there didn't agree with me so I didn't stay. For now I'm working on a few projects and waiting for more local game development jobs to become available.

One of those projects is a new game (and Ogre based engine) and I'll be updating this journal with more information about it as development continues. I'm really enjoying the freedom of having no set deadline with this project, but with any luck development will move quickly enough for it to be finished before too long.

I wrote a post mortem as part of my course at the end of last year for Outworlder and I'll probably expand upon that, post it in my next journal and give some information on my new game project.

Edit: No idea what happened to my old avatar, but I'm unable to upload a new one. I get: Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0007' Out of memory: 'CreateObject' /community/forums/editavatar.asp, line 80

Edit2: Avatar upload worked :).

Indeed I did :)... unfortunately I procrastinated for 6 months before writing a journal entry about it...
