Hello there! This is me coming to you live for your favourite Weekly Update blog!

This week was kinda slow, but nevertheless I've managed to finish up what I started last week to an extend, so kick back and enjoy!

New Jungle Challenge

This new jungle challenge was cooking up for a while and I'm now feeling comfortable enough to show it.

This challenge is seamlessly simple. You need to reach the end. However, there's a catch...

You'll quickly notice that you shouldn't stick around for long: there's a huge boulder rolling at you!

The challenge is built in a slope, and there's a split right in the middle. There are also a few treasures along the way! So stay alert and don't forget to grab anything valuable.

But be careful! There are a bunch of mud patches all around the challenge. Should you step on these you'll get significantly slower.

In harder difficulty, those mud patches get replaced with bottomless pits, so you have to be extra careful.

And that's about it!

Minor Updates

  • Migrate the colour profile from gamma to linear.
    • I don't really know why I didn't make the change any sooner...
  • Many small optimizations in many scripts
    • Profiling in Unity always takes a bit of time...

Next Week

Next week, I'm planning on touching up some lights and maybe some challenges.

Now that the colour profile is linear, there's a lot of touch-ups to do.

Nevertheless, once I'm done with the lights, I'm going to start the last jungle challenge. Once it is done, I'm then planning on working on the level generation code. Once that is done, it's optimization time until the game is clean enough to make a demo.

So that's about it for this week. See you next week!
