Hello! It's your boy clocking in again on this beautiful Saturday. It's time for yet another Weekly Update blog post.

First off, I want to inform you all that this will be the last Weekly Update of 2020. I'm taking a two weeks break and be back next January. I may be working a bit, but there won't be any updates this 19th and 26th.

Aside from that, this update will be on the thinner side too. I've been working on GUIs pretty much the whole week. I've also managed to implement an additional tab in the Options menu, so let's take a closer look at it, shall we?

Statistics

This week there's only one new thing: the statistics tab!

This tab displays many different statistics for a given save file. Players can switch which save-file to inspect by using the dropdown.

There's quite a bit of statistics to look at:

  • The amount of crystal the player has;
  • The last used character;
  • The last time the file was used;
  • The amount of money in the bank;
  • The total amount of key used;
  • The player's best time for completion;
  • The completion percent;
  • When the file was created;
  • The player's favourite character;
  • The player's favourite actionable item;
  • The player's favourite relic;
  • The player's favourite focus class;
  • The amount of hidden room found;
  • The total playtime;
  • The amount of run lost;
  • The amount of run won;
  • The total amount of money spent;
  • etc...

A lot of these statistics are not properly working yet. However, the displays are currently working, so that's a start.

In the future, there might other stats appearing there too. For now, let's focus on implementing these first.

Minor Updates

  • Optimized many GUIs
    • Split most GUI elements on their own
    • Optimized many GUI related scripts
    • Optimized many GUI Layout

Next Week

For the next couple of weeks, my focus is going to be to enjoy myself and recharge my batteries. Looks like there won't be a proper Christmas this year nor a proper new year's eve. That's alright. I'll use this free time to relax and chill a bit.

If there's time, I might be able to work. My GUIs still need quite a bit of fixing. In other words, my everlasting quest for FPS is still going on.

And that's about it for 2020's last Weekly Update post. So I'll wish you a happy holiday and a happy new year too! Let's hope 2021 will turn out better than in 2020.

See you around!
