Working towards a demo build!

I have done a lot of work on Blast Castle in the past weeks/months and holding back writing another blog, so here I am! I don't want to bore anyone, so I'll get right to the changes!

The dictionary

One of the things I always wanted to have was a way to keep track of discoveries. This object opens up a menu with all of the items someone has bought, including the info for that item. there are other pages for enemies and more, but I never got around to adding them yet.

Also, I have added a ton more items now totaling 20 unique items! (for now)

Saving / Loading menu

It wasn't all that hard to add a menu for this, but it was still cool, and I got to learn about files, saves, and cache. The main menu is a bit lacking, but in time I'll make it look all pretty with a logo and give it some love.

Tutorial

This was added not even 30min before writing this and it was a breeze. super simple, introduces the basics, and looks great!

Hotkey Item

Some items are unique in that they get activated by the player. hk items are your potions, foods, instruments, knives, etc. Speaking of knives! there are now melee weapons to accompany the shotgun that take up this spot, pretty cool huh?
