My journal is not closed, but all of the recent journal closings have caused my avatar to gouge out its own eyes.

The theory is that if you close one eye, what you are looking at is only half as stupid as it really is.

Taken to the extreme, gouge out both of your eyes, and things don't look stupid at all.
