Hey guys!

Just out of interest, do you go to any gamejams? Would you be interested in doing so? My company, Skills Matter, has a free game jam running this weekend in London, part of GlobalGamecraft. It's a one day game jam where developers of all skill levels are invited to get into teams and build a game from the ground up (based around a theme announced on the day). It's a fantastic opportunity for you to to meet, share ideas, have fun, compete for prizes and most importantly make games!

We'll give you free food and drink all day, including FREE PIZZA & BEER in the evening.

See you there!

Charlie

p.s. you don't need to turn up with a team! If you have a group then that's great but solo developers are welcome! We'll find you a group!

I'm not sure that gamejams make you a better programmer. Game jams often imply having very little time to consider your approach and jumping straight to production which, in a way, can improve your coding ability under duress, but certainly not your skills as a programmer.

Still, good self-advert :P

I think game jams are more about meeting like minded people, getting inspired and having fun.

It could also be beneficial for your career to network.
