Anyone knows what the name is for the games where you can only move in a certain direction and you have to pay (be it action points for example) to move?
What's the name of this mechanic?
Is it a platformer? Like a beat-em-up, or is it more like a tactics game, where you pay in energy or time units to move?

@SuperVGA I think it's more like the second one, for example you have to move in a city and to go from a plaza to the alleyway you have to spend x action points
Might be a “resource management” game. Action points being limited, player has to accomplish the goal within the limits of the resource.

Something that has to get replenished now and then is a resource. It needs to be managed as long as the resource isn't available in infinite amounts.
