Start here
Got some more work on the level editor done today:

I added the start tile, so the user can signify where Blocky Man starts the level. Before, he just kind of dropped from a hard coded coordinate on the level, but for custom levels, that simply won't do.

This weekend I'll sit down and add the really …

Level editor...er...stuff
Basically, my next goal for the game is to rework the game's level editor so it can be used to create custom levels. The aim here is to create a level editor that is simple to use. The finished level editor will do all of the following:

- Easily place tiles and entities, with the ability to quickly …

For Gork! or possibly Mork?
After level results screen:

It was originally going to work with percents, but considering that all the entities respawn when Blocky Man dies, it didn't exactly seem like a good plan.

Next up, I have to rework the map editor so it can be used for custom levels.

The map editor will work as follows. It …

30 minute game
I finally got to work on Blocky Man today, and made a basic splash screen for levels:

This is my first try at the splash screen, and will work on it so that it looks a little nicer tomorrow. I may reuse the TV theme used by the Game Over screen, since I'm already using level titles like episode name…

No more level design!
Well, all the levels are now done:

I found that the new level is easier than the old one, so I made the old Round World level the "Part 2".

With all ten levels now complete, I can move on to level transistions, the shop, the level editor, and other good stuff. Than again, after designing five levels…

Four down, one to go
"Robot City Part 2" is complete:

A Robot Overlord chases Blocky Man this entire level, so playing it requires that you be moving all the time. The Overlord isn't that fast, but if you don't move fast enough, it will catch up. The level is very short, but there are no checkpoints, so death means star…

More Space Pirates
I fell behind in my level making by one day, so I didn't complete "Space Pirates Part 2" until today.

I should be finished with the new levels by saturday. That's a very good thing, since I pretty much know how the rest of the game will work, and how to program it, so it is just a matter of getting…

Blocky World is saved! Or is it?
"Blocky World Part 2" is finished, and it's a big level. When I picked the size to use for the level, I severly overestimated how much space I would need. Even though I got stuck for ideas several times, the level turned out well, with some really nice portions.

My current plan is to do one new leve…

Blocky World Act 2
I began designing the "Part 2" levels today, starting with "Blocky World Part 2". I've gotten 1/3 of this level designed, but I got "Level designer's block" and now I'm writing this.

I have to admit I still enjoy designing levels, even though I complain about it so much. I didn't really want to make…
