Hi guys!!!

Sorry for not posting for the last 2 whole months… I guess I could never keep up my promises huh. So I'm not going to make any more promises and I'll just post whenever I want within a month lol.

The first house out of twenty
The first scene (I'll fix the tree later) (The character will be slightly altered to match the bg)
Image
The train that took me hours but only going to show up for like a few seconds T^T

So anyway, we've made a bunch of progress since the last time I posted!

First of all, I got a week off the week before last week and I drew some art for our game!

JL is going to have the next week off and she'll be drawing more characters and fixing the main character. I hope there'll be at least 3 more characters I can show you next time!

I have (basically) finished the mailbox system! There was an issue that I ran into which is the Area2D saying that the player has entered when they have not. So I deleted the Area2D and used the same script but it doesn't work anymore. Then I realized that I just didn't connect it lol. And then I found out that if the Area2D is on a tilemap it will show up as entered so now I understand why some tutorials make you do if body == “player” lol.

I am working on the dialogue system using a plugin called EzDialogue by Ezra: https://github.com/real-ezTheDev/GodotEzDialoguePlugin.git. I'm going to be learning how to use it for the next week or so and I'll (try to) keep you guys updated!

JL worked on the storyline for the last month. We are going to have 5 different stories! It'll be really fun!

Also, we might be joining a game jam to help us practice finishing a game. It'll be the cozy spring game jam that'll happen from 4/18 to 4/21 so I might update in the evenings of 4/21 to update on our first-ever game jam as well as other things we've worked on for this game (not the game jam one).

So I think that's it for this update! If you have any suggestions for us like how my art could be fixed are all welcome! I'll see you next time!
