DS Dev

I was just minding my own business drinking some beer(s) and playing pool at the company Christmas party when out of no where people start saying, "Neil! Neil!". Next thing I know I'm being ushered in front of a group of my coworkers and handed a brand spanking new DS. I was like, "What!? No XBox 360?" (Not really) J-Rob had his name drawn for that beauty. I couldn't get him to trade for some reason. More drinking followed and good times were had. Next morning I awoke to find I had received not one but two incredible gifts. The DS and a splitting headache.

So it seems much progress has been made in the DS homebrew scene since I've left it. And what luck! I'm in need of a personal project. However, there are a few things I'll need to acquire before I can begin on Mortal Konsole DS. [lol]
  • Some sort of wireless card to upload binaries

  • A GBA flash cartridge

  • A new notebook to setup the dev environment ( I'm sure I can convince my wife of this [wink] )

I sense adventure brewing! Quick, to the codemobile! Hurry along devboy! :)

(Witty sarcasm aside; sounds like fun. Set me up with a DS emulator and count me in for checking out your stuff ;))

If Nintendo released a dev kit with the stipulation that it could only be used for noncommercial apps - i'd buy a DS in a heartbeat. As it is, I might pick one up at some point in the future and deal with the hoops you have to go through to get homebrew apps working. The touch pad has some interesting possibilities for games.
