Should I Get An iPod?

I need an mp3 player, quite badly. I travel frequently during the day (parents are divorced, and I see them both), and it's a hassle to carry around all my CDs. I have the money, and want to get my player today (quick, aren't I?). Basically, I've heard mixed things about the iPod, but it seems the best for me. It's competitor is the Nomad Zen player. They are the exact same price, due to various sales. Which do you guys think is best? I play .wma and .mp3 files, but not .ogg. Any suggestions would be very helpful. - CD

I hear the Rio Karma works pretty well with Linux if you use it's Ethernet/Java interface, plus it's a nice player.

Not trying to say anything bad about the ipod cause I know nothing about it. Saw this about a week ago and thought I would share it in this thread.

My Brother bought the 20GB ipod but he didn't have any music to put on it. I laughed so hard my spleen broke.

He finaly convinced me to let him borrow my massive mp3 collection after he bought me a pizza though, mainly cos I was hungry and poor.
