It has been said that the most difficult part of making a game is to actually complete it. That could not be further from the truth. It may hold up when a developer is just starting out, and have little to no experience of what lies beyond completing a game (let alone making it*), but when there's …

(I'm one of the guys on the development team) We are having a heart attack and would like to ask you, ( hoping it's ok to do in this forum) to check it out and if that's something you think you might e…

Also the default resolution is 1920x1080, …

Hello survivors of the night! How have you been? It's been six months since our last blog post. Just over a half a year. We took a good long break from creating these blogs as it put a lot of added stress onto our development and at the end of the day, Nightfall is still a hobby project…
What is your skill level with C++, and OpenGL?
If you've made your game in Unity or Unreal and designed it to work with a gamepad on PC, it can potentially work directly on game consoles with minimal changes. I've worked on a few ports where nearly everything worked out of the box because the PC version focused on xbox controllers.
If you'…
FYI that sort of issue would get caught by the D3D debug layer, and I definitely recommend enabling it for your debug builds.
It's also still very common in games to teleport objects. E.g. grab nearby the ball and teleport it into the hand.
Nice idea. I think I can cheat this out. Thanks.

My first thought when looking at your code is “order of operations”. Have you tried switching the last two statements around? Have you tried setting amount to 0 or 1 and checking if you can get back your original animations?
My second thought is that there is a needless round-trip from q…

@Alberth thanks a lot for your support!
Well, you are right. I will try to stop designing constantly and will try to make something more material.

Attention, rant :-):
Codeblocks costs time compared to a simple editor call with a new file in a new directory right from the terminal. Frankly, I can't understand how people can productively work with that. There is an incomprehensive “Workspace”, a meaningless “Project”and a virtu…

@christiancl Thanks for the follow up. I still have you on my list for when our project is ready to consider music.
Most likely, there is no such tutorial. Hexagon theory is completely independent from the programming language and the render backend, and opengl is independent of the programming language too.
Your best bet is to split the problem in two. Code a hexagon map in c++, and render that map. A hexagon bo…
